Fertility Assessment

  •  A fertility assessment is a comprehensive evaluation conducted by our Fertility Doctors to understand an individual or couple’s reproductive health and potential challenges they may face when trying to conceive. Key Components include:
    •  Filling out an online Fertility Assessment Form where you provide information about any existing medical conditions, surgeries, medications, and reproductive history (e.g., previous pregnancies, miscarriages, or infertility treatments). In addition to that, factors such as smoking, alcohol consumption, drug use, nutrition, exercise, stress levels, and exposure to environmental toxins can all play a role in fertility. These are considered during the assessment.
    • Physical Examination: A physical examination may be performed to assess overall health and identify any physical issues that could impact fertility. For women, this may include an examination of the reproductive organs.
    • Hormonal Tests: Blood tests may be conducted to evaluate hormone levels related to reproductive function. This includes hormones like follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), estradiol, progesterone, and thyroid hormones.
    • Semen Analysis: For male partners, a semen analysis is conducted to assess sperm count, motility, and morphology.
    • Ovulation Tracking:This may involve tracking ovulation through methods like basal body temperature charting, ovulation predictor kits
    • Other methods as advised by your Doctor.

Fertility Treatment Plan:

  • Your FertilityMD Doctor will recommend a personalized strategy to address specific fertility challenges faced by individuals or couples. It outlines the steps, interventions, and procedures that will be taken to improve the chances of achieving a successful pregnancy. Choosing the Right Treatment Option:
    • Fertility Medications: Depending on the diagnosis, fertility medications may be prescribed to regulate hormones, stimulate ovulation, or improve sperm quality.
    • Intrauterine Insemination (IUI): This involves the placement of prepared sperm directly into the uterus around the time of ovulation to increase the chances of fertilization.
    • In Vitro Fertilization (IVF): IVF involves the retrieval of eggs from the ovaries, fertilizing them with sperm in a lab, and transferring the resulting embryo(s) into the uterus.
    • Other Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART): Depending on the specific diagnosis, additional ART procedures like intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), preimplantation genetic testing (PGT), or frozen embryo transfer may be considered.Lifestyle Modifications: The treatment plan may include recommendations for lifestyle changes, such as maintaining a healthy diet, exercise routine, and avoiding substances like tobacco and excessive alcohol, which can impact fertility.
    • Monitoring and Adjustments:Throughout the treatment process, your Fertility Doctor will closely monitor progress. This may involve ultrasounds, blood tests, and other assessments to ensure the treatment is on track. Adjustments to the plan may be made if needed.

Pre IVF Consultation:

  • The consultation typically starts with a detailed discussion of your medical history, including any pre-existing conditions, previous pregnancies, surgeries, and fertility-related issues.
  • Both partners may undergo a series of fertility tests. This can include hormone tests, ultrasounds, semen analysis (for males), and other diagnostic procedures to assess reproductive health.
  • The doctor will explain the IVF process in detail. This includes ovarian stimulation, egg retrieval, fertilization, embryo development, and embryo transfer.
  • Based on the assessments, the doctor will create a personalized treatment plan. This will outline the medications, dosages, and procedures specific to your case.
